Finally it was proven that Led Zep had zero song writing talent, not only did they %26quot;cover%26quot; every song but one on the first album, but they even claimed they had written the music when we now know they did not. Even they knew it and years ago actually changed the credits on the first album. But if you get an original release of it, you'll see they took all the credit for songs they never wrote.
How low can you go? To steal another artists work and then claim it to be all yours. Even Stairway to Heaven, their most famous song....yes, it was a direct rip off.

A lot of people have been saying that for years.
And fortunately some people have been able to prove that in court.
Combined Led Zep had great technical ability,
But Zero creative ability.
To name a few Syd Barret, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Joan Baez, Jake Holmes, John Lee Hooker and many more.
What a shame. And people on here are always talking about how great they are. They couldn't even write their own songs, lol. All modern bands I listen to write their own lyrics. Very interesting.
Interesting read.. Personally, I have never heard any other music that sounds remotely like Led Zeppelin. Though, there is no doubt they were inspired by other songs and artists, all artists are. I would like to actually hear the songs they supposedly %26quot;stole%26quot; before I pass further judgment. Until then, Led Zeppelin is still the best in my book.
Oh, and what song is Stairway To Heaven allegedly a %26quot;direct rip off%26quot; of.. do you even know? Because that's definitely something I'd like to hear.
I always hear people ranting about how Led Zeppelin stole every song they wrote. They did take some songs from old bluesman and folk singers, but really only on their first two albums. They have released eight. Even the legendary bands/artists have flaws, including: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Who.

Gee so let's stone every artist who has ever covered a song from another artist or group....let's start with Sinatra...and then go through just about every great band or artist...and we would have no record industry. Folks cover songs because they move them and they are trying to pay homeage. The record industry loves it because it is a chance to make more money off a proven song...and while your at it, why don't we start getting rid of directors and actors who do remakes and fail to live up the the original or classic version of the story...we can get ride of Hollywood at the same time...oh wait...you would be repeating something yourself....
