Looking from space for those who do not wish to see the picture.
http://chamorrobible.org/images/photos/g鈥?/a>|||...Not my words, but I share the feeling
From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.
From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
It%26#039;s the voice of hope, it%26#039;s the voice of peace,
it%26#039;s the voice of every man.
From a distance we all have enough,
and no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
no hungry mouths to feed.
From a distance we are instruments
marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They%26#039;re the songs of every man.|||It would put humanity in perspective that we don%26#039;t see that often.|||The earth is a beautiful God-given gift, being polluted by the people it was created for.|||For perspective I prefer an earthrise shot taken from the lunar surface
http://take-sa506.hp.infoseek.co.jp/apol鈥?/a>|||It%26#039;s phenomenal! There%26#039;s no people! I already have this perspective...|||It is beautiful.|||This is my only answer because I love this song!
As quoted from Monty Python movie The Meaning of Life鈥nd the song of the same name鈥nd facts provided by physicist Stephen Hawkins.
Now sing along with me........
Whenever life gets you down, Mrs Brown, and things seem hard or tough, and people are stupid, obnoxious or daft, and you feel that you鈥檝e had quite enough鈥︹€ust remember鈥?.that you鈥檙e standing on a planet that鈥檚 evolving and revolving at 900 miles an hour, and it鈥檚 orbiting at 90 miles a second, or so it%26#039;s reckoned, around a sun that鈥檚 all the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me, and all that you can see, are moving at a million miles a day, on an outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour, of a galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars, it鈥檚 a hundred thousand light years side to side. It bulges in the middle 16,000 light years thick, but out by us it鈥檚 just 3,000 light years wide.
We鈥檙e 30,000 light years from galactic central point, we go round every 200 million years, and our galaxy is only one of millions of billions in this amazing and expanding universe.
The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding, in all directions it can whiz, as fast as it can go, is the speed of light you know, 12 million miles a minute, and that鈥檚 the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you鈥檙e feeling very small and insecure, how amazingly unlikely is your birth. And pray there is intelligent life somewhere out in space, because there鈥檚 bugger all down here on Earth.
